What Is the Porcelain Crown Procedure?
When you visit your dentist’s office, the first thing your dentist will do is perform a thorough exam of your teeth and gums, with particular attention to the affected tooth. Once the dentist determines you need a porcelain crown, the dentist will use a special tool to remove a small amount of your dental enamel. This is necessary so that the crown will fit correctly.
Once your tooth is prepared, our team will take impressions of it with putty material. These impressions will be sent to a lab, where your permanent crown will be made. Meanwhile, the dentist will place a temporary crown on your tooth. A couple of weeks later, you’ll return to the office for the placement of your permanent crown.
