What is the process of getting porcelain veneers?
It all starts with a consultation. We’ll discuss your smile goals and determine how veneers can help you achieve your dream smile. We’ll also assess your teeth and gums to ensure you don’t have decay, infections, and other problems that may compromise the longevity of your veneer-enhanced smile.
Next, we’ll prepare your teeth by removing about 0.3-0.5mm of the enamel from the front and sides of your tooth. This minimal alteration doesn’t affect the structure of your tooth. It’s necessary to create space for the thickness of the veneer, which restores your tooth’s strength once bonded.
After teeth preparation, we’ll take digital scans of your teeth, which our dental lab will use to custom-create your veneers. Each veneer is handcrafted, so the process takes about 2-3 weeks. In the meantime, we’ll protect your teeth with interim veneers.
When we receive your veneers, you’ll visit our office for placement. The dentist will try on your new veneers and make a few adjustments to ensure they look natural and fit comfortably.
